VoCE Haircare is Checking In At Hotel Bel Air If you call yourself an Angeleno or hotel aficionado of any sort, you’ll know that the beloved Hotel Bel Air closed its doors for a massive renovation for nearly two and a half years.  Broken hearts were left all over the city, but take comfort — the serene atmosphere that so many of us love has been well preserved. The business-first feeling of Los Angeles is left far behind and one actually feels inclined to stop and listen to birds chirp. You won’t want to leave the grounds during your stay and there is really no need.  Stroll through the lush gardens around Swan Lake relishing the oxygen-rich air. Because the hotel is in a canyon, the quality of light is gentle and warm throughout the day, dreamy for a visiting photographer. And the thoughtful landscaping — the oaks, palms, ivy and gardenias — further soften the southern California light. It was enough to take me back to a childhood parading about my leafy neighborhood on the first day of spring. Welcome back, Hotel Bel Air.  We’ve missed you!
